With summer among us, it’s time to start thinking about grilling out and enjoying this beautiful weather. Most people have trouble creating food and wine pairings that work well. In general, heavier foods like red meat, lamb, and sausage would pair nicely with a bolder red wine like a Merlot or a Cabernet. This part can be a little intimidating. Generally, the staff at your local wine shop are more than happy to help you pick out the perfect wine for your occasion. If you are mixing your wine with anything, like making Sangria, then I would stay on the lower end maybe $10 or less. If you are having a date night with the hubby then I think it’s ok to spend a little more on the wine.
